If the scattered slow-moving hip hop of Flying Lotus sounds familiar, you may have heard samples squeezed between Adult Swim cartoons. Flying Lotus is the name California producer/DJ Steven Ellison records under. His second album Los Angeles was released on Warp Records in June. Three EPs also bearing the name of the Southern California city are due out later this year.
Flying Lotus may also sound familiar because the artist is heavily influenced by J Dilla.
