New Music For The Weekend: 05/25/07

There's a high of 90 today in Boston, which is really pretty awesome, and I'll be in New York this weekend where it's supposed to be even hotter. Here is a rundown of the some of the newest music I've got for the weekend.

In other news, the final episode of Veronica Mars aired this week. This was easily the best hour long show on TV now and another network would be stupid not to pick it up.

Chromeo: Man, if this is not perfect summer music, than I don't know what is. Fancy Footwork, their sophomore disc, comes out on Vice on July 24th.

The White Stripes: Now that they're on a major label, the real indie kid bellyaching can begin. A number of people I've spoken to have not liked "Icky Thump," but this track is exactly what you want from this duo by taking the skeleton of American blues and strengthening it with any instrument or idea laying around the studio.

I know a few people that don't like the new Stripes track simply because they think they've "sold out".

Sadly, the move to a major label is just a fact of our current music industry. For the most part, anyways.
