I just heard someone throw up on the street outside of apartment. Unremarkable for most city dwellers, except for the fact that I live on the fifth floor! And had music playing! I'm really grossed out, so let's segue over to music...

Everyone in Britain probably knows about Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong already. Following high profile shows with no names like Babyshambles, Dizzee Rascal, The Kaiser Chiefs, and CSS, every rag from NME to Q started to sing the young band's praises. The coverage is well deserved, as the band writes songs full of killer hooks that stay in your head for days on end. Sonically, Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong sound at home with the Razorlights and the Strokes of the world--though with a sprinkling of 1960s surf rock thrown in for good measure. It's an interesting and highly enjoyable sound, one that could easily break into the mainstream following the success of other nouveau throwback acts like The Pipettes and Amy Winehouse.
