Akron/Family
Brooklyn freak folk collective Akron/Family has a new album coming out today on Young God Records. Showcasing the band's continued experimentation with different song forms and instrumentation, Love Is Simple finds Akron/Family tackling genres as varied as psychedelic rock on "Phenomena" and field hollers, Appalachian folk, and even electronica on "Ed Is A Portal." The songs are obtuse and difficult at times, but they are definitely enjoyable if you give them a chance. If you want to expand your musical palate, then make sure to try this group out for size.
